Daily Path

  1. Open Accounts and find the patient by name or phone.
  2. Review proposed services, saved invoices, outstanding balance, and recent payments in the same patient checkout surface.
  3. Confirm each valid pending charge. A pending charge cannot be issued.
  4. Use Save as draft when the review should be preserved for later, or Issue invoice when the lines and total are final.
  5. In Collection desk, select the invoice when more than one is payable, choose an enabled method, and enter a full or partial amount no greater than the remaining balance.
  6. Wait for Payment recorded and the receipt number. Print only the server-confirmed receipt.
  7. Expand Patient financial history when older invoices or payments are needed.

The top summary shows today's collected amount and current outstanding balances when report access is available. Selecting a different patient removes any old Visit-specific checkout context and clears the unsaved amount and note before the new account opens. An unmatched search says so explicitly instead of leaving the account area blank.

Persistence Boundary

Opening Accounts, choosing a patient, reviewing charges or a balance, or typing an amount creates nothing. Charge confirmation, draft save, invoice issue, and payment recording are separate explicit actions. Repeated submission is blocked while a request is pending, and an uncertain payment retry keeps the same submission identity. Balances, payment history, invoice state, currency, tenant scope, and permissions remain backend-authoritative. Escalate refunds, discounts, and voids when the required action or permission is not available.
