Active Dental Treatment

The current daily flow starts treatment from Today and opens the exact Patient Record. Patient Record is not review-only: its Teeth section is the primary odontogram workspace for authorized clinicians.

Start From Today​

  1. Open the patient's appointment and record arrival when needed.
  2. Use Start treatment only after confirming patient identity, reason, and safety context.
  3. SINA creates or reuses the appointment's active Visit and moves the linked operational entry into treatment in one protected operation.
  4. The interface opens /patients/<patient-id> without asking for the patient again.

Opening the appointment or Patient Record does not start treatment. Retrying the start action reuses the server-owned Visit and queue context rather than creating a duplicate active Visit.

Document In Patient Record​

The compact header keeps identity and meaningful safety notices visible. In Teeth, select an adult FDI tooth and valid location, choose one permitted finding or performed procedure, review the local draft, then press Save.

A note belongs only to the next chart action. Wait for the saved confirmation; a highlight, selected tool, or saving message is not a persisted clinical record. History shows server-confirmed work, and Account remains independently permission-gated.

Finish The Linked Visit​

Use Finish on the active treatment card only after required documentation is saved. When the operational entry has a Visit identifier, Finish completes that real clinical Visit. The backend then synchronizes its linked queue entry and appointment. It does not create an invoice, payment, follow-up appointment, or message.

Older operational entries without a linked Visit retain a bounded compatibility transition so they can leave the active-treatment state. New appointment starts must always carry the real Visit identifier.

Users need Visit-complete permission to finish a linked clinical Visit. The button is not shown as an inert control when that permission is missing.

If Something Is Wrong​

  • Use Retry when a chart save fails; the request identity prevents a silent duplicate.
  • Use eligible Undo for the latest server-approved chart reversal.
  • Use the reason-based correction workflow for history that is no longer eligible for immediate Undo.
  • Ask an authorized clinic lead for help when the patient, Visit, or saved clinical context is wrong.
