Start, pause and finish treatment
Start from Today
- Check the patient name and number and record arrival if needed.
- Choose Start visit when ready to treat that patient.
- Review the patient header and safety information in the opened record.
- Save the care you perform in Teeth or the relevant record section.
Opening an appointment or patient record alone does not start treatment. Continue visit opens an already active visit. Resume visit resumes a paused one.
Check identity, save performed care, then finish the visit. Invoice review is a separate step.
Keep three things separate
- A finding is what you observed.
- A performed procedure is work actually done.
- A plan describes future work.
Choose a tooth, surface or wider scope only when it applies. Selecting a tool or adding a note to a draft does not save it. Read the save confirmation.
Continue the same treatment over several visits
The plan summary shows planned and ongoing treatments. Continue treatment opens the selected case; an ongoing case can open its next session directly. Keep the same case for repeat trials or stages of that treatment. A genuinely independent treatment needs its own plan item.
Use an editable treatment name, next step, follow-up state and optional step list. A suggested list is an organizational starting point, never a clinical protocol or proof that work happened. Saving the organization records a new version; it does not perform care or create a fee. A recorded step cannot be silently renamed or removed from that history.
In an active visit, enter the work performed and its note. Add another step in this session keeps a separate note and identity for each deliberate step. Each note has small Quick notes controls for searching personal/clinic templates and favorites. You can combine and edit templates; unresolved placeholders prevent a complete clinical save. Repeating an already inserted template asks for a deliberate choice. Changing a library template does not rewrite saved patient notes.
The session starts with a blank note. Copy to review in this session is an explicit history action, marked as copied text to review. It does not certify that the earlier work happened again.
Save session — follow-up needed and Save session and complete this treatment make different clinical choices. Neither issues an invoice, collects money or books the next appointment. If a response is uncertain, retry the captured steps; do not add another case to repeat the request.
The case's Session history loads real history when opened. Use Next if more pages remain. Case changes retain their previous version, reason and original session notes. A later clinician edit is not discarded by undoing an earlier eligible session step.
Finish the visit safely
Save unfinished drafts and review pending synchronization before Finish. If device protection is locked, unlock it and check pending changes. SINA may postpone completion until this work is resolved.
Finishing updates the linked visit and patient movement. It does not issue an invoice, record a payment, send a message or book another appointment. Authorized users can then review invoice preparation separately.
